When I plugged it back in everything was OK and it allowed me to set the date. I forgot power was on the side so I unplugged it, let it deplete its small internal battery and power down. The only hang up was the date page locked up/froze the device when I changed the year to 2020. You'll use middle left to open menu, Lower left to navigate, and upper right to OK. Arrived quickly, ready to use out of the box.

The angle of view is much narrower (about 35 degrees) and cannot be "zoomed out" for a full view. It is losing it's date setting after the battery dies out (about a day later) so if you want the date on the recording to be accurate you will resetting it every day. Its refreshing with a distorted portion slowly rolling from top to bottom. Dashcam still working but now has a wavy distortion in the screen. UPDATE: The problems with this dashcam surfaced after a while.
